Congratulations to Class of 2020 Biology PhD students! Though faced with challenges due to the coronavirus they made it.

This Fall, our graduate students in the Biology Department passed their Comprehensive Exams! Kathryn Sanchez from the McGuire-Zeiss Lab and Zhirong Wang from the Coate lab successfully completed their exams during the COVID-19 pandemic. These exams, required for third-year PhD candidates, assess the student’s knowledge and analytical processes in their subject area, including both a written research proposal and an oral defense of said proposal in front of a committee of professors. Congratulations to each of them, thank you to their advisory boards, and we can’t wait to see where your research will take you in the future!
