Congratulations to William Rydzewski and the Patten Lab Group for their recent publication!

The article, entitled “Sexual antagonism and meiotic drive cause stable linkage disequilibrium and favour reduced recombination on the X chromosome,” was co-authored by, William Rydzewski (‘15), Sara Carioscia (‘17), Gabriela Liévano, (‘13) and Victoria Lynch (‘13), and Professor Manus Patten. It investigates the influence of two factors, sexual antagonism and meiotic drive, on the evolution of the X chromosome. Their results have implications for patterns of natural variation as well as the evolution of recombination rates on the X chromosome.
