The Ries Lab’s Elise Larsen and Vaughn Shirey publish a technical comment!
Peer review is one of the hallmarks of modern science, but sometimes errors in procedure or data analysis can remain in the final journal article. Technical comments allow other researchers to identify these mistakes and propose a better way to interpret data or perform experiments. Recently, Elise and Vaughn from the Ries Lab noticed that the authors of Fric et al. (2020) performed improper data analyses, so they decided to perform a more rigorous analysis themselves, finding different results. Their technical comment was recently accepted in Ecology Letters! Their ability to think at a high level about not just their research, but others is truly impressive. Great work!
