Biology Department Celebrates 2025 Senior Award Recipients
The Department of Biology is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of our graduating seniors with this year’s departmental awards and honors. These awards highlight excellence in academic performance, research, leadership, and service within our diverse biology majors.
🏅 Chapman Medal
We are pleased to announce that Jessica Lin is the recipient of the 2025 Chapman Medal. This prestigious award honors the most outstanding undergraduate research project carried out in the laboratory, field, or through computational approaches. Named after former Department Chair Professor George B. Chapman, the medal continues his legacy of excellence in undergraduate research.
🎓 Biology Major Awards
The following students were recognized for excellence within their respective majors:
- Tiffany Zhang – Biology
- Dua Mobin – Biology of Global Health
- Catherine Dell’Olio – Environmental Biology
- Alexandria Sorenson – Neurobiology
These medals are awarded to students who exemplify qualities of perseverance, leadership, academic achievement, and service in their field.
📘 Taylor-Weber Memorial Prize
The Taylor-Weber Memorial Prize, awarded to students entering senior year with the highest academic records across all biology majors, was presented to:

This prize honors the legacy of Professors Taylor and Weber, two foundational educators in the Department’s early history.
