Department of Biology Honors Sam Sturiale with Artrice Valentine Bader Outstanding Graduate Student Award
Named in honor of Dr. Artrice Valentine Bader, the pioneering scientist who made history as the very first student to earn a Ph.D. in biology at Georgetown University, this distinguished annual award recognizes a graduate student who exemplifies exceptional academic achievement.
Sam, a dedicated researcher in the department, has significantly advanced ecological and evolutionary research with her multiple publications. Her commitment to her field is further underscored by her previous achievement of a highly competitive $2,000 grant from The Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology, which has been instrumental in funding her ongoing dissertation research.
