Huang lab receives funding to study a potentially novel drug target for multiple sclerosis (MS)

Professor Jeff Huang has recently been honored with The Fiscal Year 2016 Multiple Sclerosis Research Program Investigator-Initiated Research Award. For three years, the award funds research endeavors managed by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) specifically within the Department of Defense. The grant award comes because of his dedication to working with the mechanisms of glia-neuron interaction in central nervous system (CNS) development, homeostasis, and regeneration. The CDMRP progresses healthcare with different areas of research. The group promotes a broad range of healthcare related work and Huang’s lab focus on neurodevelopment has proven to make significant contributions. Relating to the healthcare aspect of the grant requirements, Huang’s research includes the development, maintenance, and regeneration of the central nervous system. We are prideful and excited to hear that the Huang Lab is receiving the merit that it deserves!
