Brinsmade Lab welcomes Marcelle Ferreira, their newest PhD student!

Last week, Marcelle Ferreira, a first-year graduate student in the Brinsmade Lab hailing from Brazil, arrived at Georgetown and began settling into the lab! At the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelle received an M.S. in Microbiology and her research focused on biofilm composition and virulence in Staphylococcus epidermidis. Now, Marcelle will begin research on host-pathogen interactions via the biofilm in the Brinsmade Lab!
