Former Georgetown Student Honored with Soros Fellowship for New Americans
Stefano Daniele, a son of immigrants, Stefano became interested in studying neuroscience after his grandmother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. His undergraduate research focused on two proteins involved in the disorder, and after graduation he joined the Maguire-Zeiss lab in the Department of Neuroscience at Georgetown University, to study neuroinflammation, a process similarly related to Parkinson’s. The prestigious grant, founded by Hungarian immigrants Daisy M. and Paul Soros, is awarded to immigrants and children of immigrants to honor their work in the United States.
We could not be prouder of Stefano’s accomplishments!
