Georgetown launches the GU Initiative for Maximizing Student Development!
This January, Georgetown received a competitive training grant from the National Institutes of Health to fund a new interdisciplinary training program for students from diverse backgrounds. When the Georgetown University Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) enrolls its first class in July, it will begin training 20 doctoral students from underrepresented backgrounds in the biomedical sciences. Supported by over 60 faculty from seven different graduate programs, including the Department of Biology, the program is informed by Georgetown’s guiding principle of Cura personalis (care of the whole person).
